Martin earns $5,000 in Ronny Adams Memorial opener at Boothill
Logan Martin entered his Adams Construction No. 36 Late Model into battle with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) on Friday afternoon at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) as the series kicked off the 2023 campaign with the fourth annual Ronny Adams Memorial.
In a field of 41 Late Models, Martin edged his way into the opener with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting in 13th, Logan charged forward early and set himself in contention for the win with a move to take second from Hunter Rasdon with five laps remaining. Grabbing the lead from Neil Baggett on the final circuit after the pair made contact, Martin inherited his first win of the season and a $5,000 prize. He recorded his 11th career CCSDS victory ahead of Rasdon, Rick Rickman, Garrett Alberson, and B.J. Robinson.
On Saturday, Logan timed in second-fastest in his qualifying group before dashing to a heat race win. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Martin dropped two positions in the 40-lap affair to finish sixth.
